About the position

The Business Engagement Manager (BEM) at Genentech serves as a vital link between the company and financial decision-makers in the healthcare ecosystem. This role involves representing the Genentech product portfolio, connecting with large provider institutions, and collaborating with internal stakeholders. The BEM is responsible for account and contract management, leading customer engagement, and developing provider contracts to enhance patient access and outcomes. The position requires a strategic approach to navigate the complexities of the healthcare environment and ensure compliance with contract terms.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a crucial link between Genentech and financial decision-makers in the healthcare ecosystem.
  • Represent the Genentech product portfolio and connect with large provider institutions.
  • Lead and influence customers through effective account and contract management.
  • Develop and administer provider contracts, identifying partnership opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Director, Healthcare Market to ensure appropriate contract terms and compliance.
  • Drive provider contract pull-through and communication within the ecosystem.
  • Educate stakeholders about payer formulary status and contract eligibility.
  • Develop and execute engagement strategies and account plans for top-priority accounts.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure cohesive account management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Analytics, or Finance.
  • 8 or more years of cross-functional industry experience in commercial life sciences or related fields.
  • Advanced understanding of the contracting environment and healthcare ecosystem.
  • Effective project management skills for multiple complex contracts.
  • Strong collaboration, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
  • Proven leadership abilities applicable to both customer and internal audiences.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA or other related graduate-level degree.
  • Proven track record of analytical ability and operational excellence.
  • Experience navigating the hospital/IDN formulary process and managing complex accounts.
  • Expertise in contract negotiations, particularly in oncology and rare disease products.
  • Advanced skills in business strategy, negotiation, and analytics.
