About the position

At Harvey Performance Company, the Business Intelligence Analyst I plays a crucial role in managing and analyzing enterprise data. This position is designed to assist with the entire data lifecycle, from its creation and organization to its management and analysis. The successful candidate will utilize advanced data science techniques to uncover insights from data, ensuring that the data is accurate, well-structured, and usable for analysis. The role involves a comprehensive understanding of data sources, potential weaknesses, and the organization of data into usable sets. In this position, the analyst will be responsible for analyzing existing data sets to discover or confirm outcomes, providing guidance on data quality and structure that impacts analytic outcomes. The analyst will also engage with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into functional specifications. Validating data sources and ensuring user acceptance of data models will be key responsibilities. Additionally, the analyst will develop, coordinate, and execute data model solutions tailored to the business needs, design new data structures, and create processes for data analysis and organization using tools such as R, Python, ETL tools, and SQL. The role also includes creating analytic presentations and reports, collaborating with the team to understand and assist with automated database administration, and managing data organization, including security management, user account setup, troubleshooting, archives, performance monitoring, and general maintenance. Responsibilities

  • Analyzing existing data sets to discover or confirm outcomes.
  • Providing guidance on data quality and structure that impacts analytic outcomes.
  • Interviewing business stakeholders to gather requirements and translating them into functional specifications.
  • Validating data sources and ensuring user acceptance of data models.
  • Developing, coordinating, and executing data model solutions for the business.
  • Designing and developing new data structures and processes for data analysis and organization using tools such as R, Python, ETL tools, and SQL.
  • Creating analytic presentations and reports using various tools.
  • Assisting with automated database administration and data organization, including security management, user account setup, troubleshooting, archives, performance monitoring, and general maintenance.

Requirements

  • Experience with data modeling, data analysis, data organization, and data presentation.
  • Bachelor's degree in data science or another related technical field.
  • Knowledge of analytic tools (R, Python or similar).
  • Knowledge of SQL, relational databases, and key-value pair data structures.
  • Project management skills and ability to juggle multiple priorities.
