The Business Intelligence Analyst II is responsible for moderately complex data analysis, preparation, and visualization. They will use their technical and domain expertise to translate data into meaningful insights for teams and leaders to confidently take action on. This role requires proficiency with the tools and technical skillsets necessary for their area of responsibility, and the ideal candidate will be passionate about all things data, exhibiting a creative and analytical mindset to help solve challenging problems. The position involves close collaboration with Business Analysts, BI Analysts, Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and business units for requirements gathering and validation. The BI Analyst II may also mentor BI Analysts and Associate BI Analysts, contributing to the development of the team. This is a hybrid position based out of our campuses in Chattanooga, TN, Columbia, SC, Atlanta, GA, and Portland, ME. The role requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, along with 4+ years of experience in a BI Analyst I level or a comparable data analytics-related field. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in analytics programming languages such as SQL, R, or Python, and have a strong understanding of modern BI toolsets like Tableau, Alteryx, or PowerBI. They will also be skilled in data profiling, statistical analysis, and data modeling concepts, with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions. The Business Intelligence Analyst II will conduct moderately complex data profiling and analysis to evaluate data sources, acquire and transform data into actionable dashboards and reports, and perform statistical analysis to guide and influence leadership. They will collaborate with data engineers for data validation and testing, continuously develop knowledge of the insurance industry and company databases, and work directly with internal customers to refine requirements and validate outputs. This role may also involve mentoring and coaching lower-level BI Analysts, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
