About the position

As a Business Intelligence Analyst at Capital Group, you will engage in strategic data and analytics projects, providing essential project management and operational support. Your role will be pivotal in collaborating with distribution and marketing partners, key stakeholders, and enterprise teams to understand their needs, gather customer feedback, and deliver insights that will influence business strategy. With a strong interest in financial markets and the investment management industry, you will be part of the Insights and Analytics Group, which operates within the North America Distribution organization. This group is dedicated to driving business value through the use of internal and external data, predictive analytics, and data science. The focus is on delivering cutting-edge business intelligence and advanced analytic solutions to support marketing efforts within North America Distribution. In this position, you will leverage data to address strategic, tactical, structured, and unstructured business problems. You will design impactful analytics data products, reports, and visualizations that showcase distribution insights. Your responsibilities will include defining and conducting research and analysis to create data-driven insights regarding distribution effectiveness and opportunities. You will lead large strategic projects from scope definition through to execution and implementation, developing and updating frameworks and roadmaps while tracking progress to implement strategic priorities for the team. Additionally, you will analyze operational issues in collaboration with the Insights & Analytics team, partners, and stakeholders to anticipate and assess impacts, recommend solutions, and execute implementations. Your role will also involve interpreting and communicating results to both analytical and non-analytical business partners and senior leaders, demonstrating quick problem-solving skills and the ability to respond creatively to complex issues using sound judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with distribution and marketing partners to understand their needs and gather customer feedback.
  • Deliver insights that influence business strategy using data analytics.
  • Design and develop impactful analytics data products, reports, and visualizations.
  • Conduct research and analysis to create data-driven insights about distribution effectiveness and opportunities.
  • Lead large strategic projects from scope definition to execution and implementation.
  • Develop and update frameworks and roadmaps to track progress on strategic priorities.
  • Analyze operational issues and recommend solutions in collaboration with the Insights & Analytics team and stakeholders.
  • Interpret and communicate analytical results to business partners and senior leaders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Analytics, Finance, Economics, Econometrics, or a related field; MS preferred.
  • 2-4 years of experience in an analytics role supporting distribution, marketing, or investment efforts.
  • Proficient in SQL and BI tools such as Tableau, Databricks, and Power BI.
  • Knowledge of Python or R is preferred.
  • Experience managing internal and external partners.
  • Proven success in applying analytics results to practical business challenges.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact, influence, and negotiate effectively with peers and management.
  • Interest or experience in financial markets, investment management, macroeconomics, or financial advice.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with predictive analytics and data science methodologies.
  • Familiarity with financial modeling and analysis techniques.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
