About the position

The Business Intelligence Analyst will play a crucial role within the Risk Products organization, focusing on implementing data-driven processes, models, and analytics to enhance risk management at WEX. This position is part of a Global Risk Analytics team dedicated to modernizing and developing key data-driven processes that support the organization's revenue and credit loss objectives. The role requires collaboration with various teams to architect data streams, build fraud models, and optimize processes, ultimately contributing to the organization's mission of robust risk management.

Responsibilities

  • Connect business problems with data to create innovative, data-driven solutions.
  • Leverage analytics and risk models to drive operational improvements in fraud detection, including global KPIs and root cause analysis.
  • Design and implement data-driven strategies that transform processes for efficiency and scalability.
  • Partner with data scientists to build machine learning models addressing risk problems.
  • Engage with corporate technology and analytics teams to design scalable data architectures.
  • Build subject matter expertise in functional areas of the risk organization, starting with fraud.
  • Deliver insights through analysis to optimize revenue and risk management.
  • Establish a fraud model framework, defining inputs and outputs.
  • Design a process for real-time fraud detection and optimized evaluation of fraud alerts.
  • Evaluate and establish improvement plans for internal and external data used in fraud detection.
  • Build relationships with internal stakeholders.

Requirements

  • BS or MS degree in a relevant area (Industrial Engineering, Data Analytics, Risk Management, Data Science) or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions.
  • Experience with fraud and fraud systems.
  • Experience in a global company focusing on technology, payments technology, or software development is desirable.
  • Operations and industrial engineering training/certification preferred.
  • Data management skills (SQL, Data Lake, Tableau, SnowFlake, Python, etc.).
  • Data architecture skills with modeling and data architecture expertise.
  • Possess data creativity to identify proxies as business substitutes when desired variables are unavailable.
  • Ability to excel at detailed execution and have a vision for systematic process innovation.
