About the position

Perdue AgriBusiness is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to join our team in Salisbury, MD. This position is integral to our operations, focusing on the creation and enhancement of dashboards, reports, and processes that are vital for our business strategy. As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will collaborate closely with stakeholders from various business units within Perdue AgriBusiness, ensuring that the tools and insights you develop effectively drive business value and strategy. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a keen ability to learn and understand business processes. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and customizing Power BI reports and dashboards tailored to the specific needs of different stakeholders. You will work alongside cross-functional teams, including commercial, finance, and operations, to understand their data needs and provide insights that identify opportunities for business process improvement and efficiency gains through data analysis. Additionally, you will act as a liaison between the Information Technology department and AgriBusiness users, ensuring that the business's needs are met by the existing data collection and retrieval structures provided by IT. Your responsibilities will also include meeting with key stakeholders to present and review data outputs, which will help improve operational performance, support decision-making, and enhance planning efforts. Ensuring data accuracy and reliability will be crucial, as you will monitor and validate data governance policies and procedures to assure data integrity and security. Responsibilities

  • Develop and customize Power BI reports and dashboards to meet the specific needs of different stakeholders
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (such as commercial, finance, operations) to understand their data needs, provide insights and identify opportunities for business process improvement and efficiency gains through data analysis
  • Liaise between Information Technology and AgriBusiness departments users, ensuring the needs from the business are met by the existent data collection/retrieval structure provided by IT
  • Meet with key stakeholders to present and review data output to improve operational performance, support decisions, and enhance planning efforts
  • Ensure data accuracy and reliability through monitoring and validation of data governance policies and procedures, assuring data integrity and security

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field OR 5+ years experience with PowerBI, Tableau, or QlikView
  • 3 - 5 years of previous business experience (Merchandising, Sales, and/or Logistics)
  • 1 - 3 years of previous experience in data analytics
  • Experience with data visualization tools, such as Power BI, Tableau or QlikView
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and present significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, as the position requires direct communication with end users and business leaders

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Data Analytics concepts and tools
  • Basic understanding of statistical analysis is a plus
  • Understanding of the agricultural business industry and processes
