The Business Intelligence Analyst at the University of Florida plays a crucial role in supporting data-driven decision-making across various departments. This position involves fielding, triaging, and fulfilling requests for data, reporting, and tooling, ensuring that stakeholders have access to the necessary information to drive operational success. The analyst will interface with multiple software systems utilized departmentally, collecting, summarizing, and analyzing data related to operational metrics and outcomes. This role requires proficiency in various software packages to extract, transform, analyze, and load operational data, making informed suggestions based on the findings from these analyses. In addition to data analysis, the Business Intelligence Analyst will prototype and troubleshoot internal tooling and data pipelines, contributing to the development of value-added tools that provide operational data and insights to departmental stakeholders. Identifying potential faults in systems with real-time data collection and proposing solutions is a key responsibility. The analyst will assist subject matter experts in utilizing departmental information systems and workflows, following established best practices while also suggesting improvements to enhance efficiency. The role also involves contributing to the automation of workflows by analyzing processes, data, and system interface options. The analyst will assist end users with best practices for data collection and entry, ensuring data integrity and effective manipulation. Monitoring the success of system implementations and contributing to the administration and upkeep of departmentally supported systems are also part of the job. Collaboration with Business Affairs Technical Services (BATS) and UF IT is essential for requesting support related to Business Affairs or UF systems. Participation in operational meetings, presenting findings, and documenting processes and procedures related to data management and analysis are critical components of this position.
