The Quality Engineer position at HEXPOL is a critical role focused on initiating, establishing, sustaining, and improving methods for controlling and enhancing the quality and integrity of all systems, processes, and procedures related to the design and manufacturing of rubber compounds. This position involves a comprehensive review and approval of daily lab testing of produced materials to ensure compliance with both internal and external specifications. The Quality Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop, document, implement, and validate robust corrective actions aimed at eliminating the root causes of product and process non-conformities, particularly those arising from customer complaints. A key responsibility of this role is the maintenance of the existing ISO: 9001:2015 quality system, with a strong emphasis on aligning with HEXPOL's quality objectives. The Quality Engineer will manage the nonconforming material process from identification through to disposition, driving continual quality improvement initiatives that focus on enhancing customer satisfaction, exceeding quality objectives, and reducing quality costs. This will be achieved through the application of systematic quality tools and methodologies, including Six Sigma, within the framework of HEXPOL's strategic initiatives. In addition to these responsibilities, the Quality Engineer will analyze process and test data to assess and improve process capability, create and develop all related documentation such as warrants, Measurement System Analyses (MSAs), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), control plans, and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions. The role also involves representing HEXPOL during audits of the quality system conducted by customers or third-party certification agencies, performing internal and external audits to ensure compliance with ISO9001, HEXPOL, and customer requirements, and overseeing the Layered Process Audit (LPA) program. The Quality Engineer will conduct GEMBA walks to audit and identify issues on the manufacturing floor, support purchasing in developing the supply base, and ensure that all specifications are met. Additionally, the role includes managing laboratory activities to reduce measurement system variation, training personnel in quality procedures, inspection methods, and quality assurance techniques, and supervising Lab Technicians and Quality team personnel. The Quality Engineer will also be expected to perform any other projects or tasks as assigned by management.
