Triumph Cabling Systems is a family-owned low voltage cabling and underground contractor located in Austin, Texas. We are seeking experienced Technicians/Installers skilled in all aspects of low voltage cabling including voice, data, and fiber optic to join our team. The ideal candidates will have at least 1 year of proven experience as a Lead Technician, with a preference for those who hold a BICSI certification. We are hiring for two specific positions: the Fiber Splicing Field Technician and the Structured Cabling Field Technician. The Fiber Splicing Field Technician will be responsible for analyzing and troubleshooting basic technical problems or issues. This role involves reviewing, interpreting, and working with various fiber cut sheets, drawings, blueprints, and testing documents. The technician will make fusion splicing rearrangements on existing facilities in various work locations, including buried, underground, aerial, and building sites. They should be adept at troubleshooting and repairing problems using optical test equipment such as OTDR, Fiber Identifier, Power Meter, and Fiber Scope. Additionally, the technician will prep fiber optic cables into new enclosures, splice trays, and perform fusion splicing on optic fiber cables ranging from single fiber to large count cables, including performing mid-entries or ring cuts when necessary. Accurate testing of fiber cables to required certification is also a key responsibility. The Structured Cabling Field Technician will similarly analyze and troubleshoot basic technical problems. This role requires the ability to build out closets and dress bundles of cables in those closets. The technician will also review, interpret, and work with various cut sheets, drawings, blueprints, and testing documents, and accurately test copper cables to required certification. Responsibilities include physically installing various categories of structured cable distribution systems, terminating and assembling 8-pin modular connectors and coaxial connectors, and diagnosing and correcting copper problems. The technician will maintain and reference industry standards, including ANSI, EIA/TIA, and local Low Voltage Code, and will determine closet and equipment layouts while installing closet hardware such as backboards, connecting blocks, racks, and patch panels.
