About the position

The CAD Designer role at CBRE is a hybrid position focused on the life sciences and pharmaceutical sectors. The designer will be responsible for creating and updating technical drawings and maps, ensuring spatial accuracy and compliance with industry standards. This role involves direct site visits to gather data, collaborating with internal and external partners, and maintaining current building conditions through effective data management. The position emphasizes adherence to CBRE's core values and aims to impact the quality of work positively.

Responsibilities

  • Create and update original plans and records for internal and external agency use.
  • Review and modify various drawings for changes using computer-aided drafting techniques.
  • Gather data by visiting sites directly and conducting surveys of space to prepare detailed reports.
  • Assist in developing maps and drawings that are spatially accurate and technically correct.
  • Act as the point of contact for internal and external partners to acquire project details, including equipment, materials, and codes.
  • Collect on-site information and input it into a database to maintain current building conditions and data.
  • Model behaviors consistent with CBRE RISE values and lead by example.
  • Work within standardized procedures to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
  • Exchange straightforward information, ask questions, and check for understanding.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree preferred with up to 3 years of relevant experience, or a combination of experience and education.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2018 or newer version is required.
  • Knowledge of CAD standards 'AIA & ISA' is preferred.
  • Understanding of Arch/MEP drawings and systems is preferred.
  • General knowledge of Revit is nice to have but not required.
  • Ability to use existing procedures to solve standard problems.
  • Experience analyzing information and standard practices to make judgments.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mentality.

Nice-to-haves

  • General knowledge of Revit.
