The Cage Cashier at Boyd Gaming Corporation plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth monetary transactions for guests at the casino. This position involves executing transactions at an assigned window bank, where the cashier is responsible for maintaining an accurate balance of company assets while delivering exceptional customer service. The Cage Cashier must handle various financial tasks, including exchanging gaming chips and tickets, cashing checks, and processing markers and fills, all while adhering to gaming regulations and company policies. In addition to transaction processing, the Cage Cashier is tasked with maintaining the bank balance and safeguarding casino cage assets during their shift. This includes assisting customers with filling out credit applications and managing customer credit files. The role also requires the issuance of window markers and safety deposit boxes to guests, as well as entering markers, fills, and credit slips into the computer system. The Cage Cashier must be prepared to assist guests with inquiries and provide information on current promotions, ensuring a professional appearance and a well-stocked work station throughout their shift. The position demands a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, as the performance of duties requires standing for the majority of the shift. The Cage Cashier must also be able to lift, bend, push, and carry items weighing up to 26 pounds. This role is essential in maintaining the integrity of financial operations within the casino environment, contributing to the overall guest experience and operational success of Boyd Gaming Corporation.
Responsibilities
- Execute monetary transactions for guests in an assigned window bank.
- Maintain an accurate balance count of company assets.
- Provide excellent customer service during all transactions.
- Process all transactions and documentation in accordance with gaming regulations and company policies.
- Exchange gaming chips and tickets, cash checks, and process markers and fills.
- Safeguard casino cage assets during assigned shift.
- Assist customers with filling credit applications and maintain customer credit files.
- Issue window markers and safety deposit boxes to guests.
- Enter markers, fill and credit slips into the computer system.
- Assist guests with inquiries and advise on current promotions.
- Maintain a professional appearance and ensure work stations are fully stocked.
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Previous money handling/cashiering experience preferred.
- Basic math skills with knowledge of currency.
- Ability to operate calculators, computers, and money counters for cash and coin.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to read and speak English.
- Must be able to obtain/maintain any necessary certifications and/or licenses as required by local gaming regulations.
