About the position

The Capital Contract Manager (CCM) is responsible for the strategic and tactical development and management of agreements for Capital Equipment including acquisition, maintenance, repairs. The CCM will develop and implement contract strategies for major capital equipment and services. Negotiate all commercial (and in some cases technical) aspects of purchases. Provide purchase recommendations based on cost, quality, and delivery. Negotiate/Lead discussions for any post contract disputes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Capital Equipment portfolio based on category, facility or other and ensuring that portfolio contracts are current and producing value for the organization
  • Build an overall project budget, compile budget requests, and generate capitalization plan based on project timeline
  • Leads cross-functional teams in the development and implementation equipment standards and cost reduction initiatives
  • Take part in the annual Capital Budget process
  • Initiate, negotiate, and participate in cooperative purchasing agreements for with outside vendors GPO bulk buys and governmental agencies
  • Maximizes vendor discounts, GPO Bulk and other incentive opportunities, align to quarterly and annual incentives
  • Evaluates bid responses and recommends bids of acceptable quality, cost saving and payment terms for final approval
  • Develop strategy with BioMed and Capital Equipment Management to extend the life of Capital
  • Establish and advise on policy and procedures related to Purchasing, Fleet Services, fleet replacement and parts inventory; serve on variety of committees and subcommittees related to capital
  • Manages end to end process working with all teams (Operations, Finance, Purchasing, Customer Service, A/P, et al) as appropriate to assure adherence to policies and procedures, metrics are maintained, and desired results are achieved
  • Manages key suppliers to ensure that they meet their contractual obligations and strives to leverage sourcing cooperation for mutual benefit
  • Develop and implement a process to manage the disposition of assets to maximize value for the system
  • Monitors and manages relevant metrics including: spend analytics, operational efficiencies, supplier performance and benefit capture from procurement activities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a work-related field/discipline from an accredited college or university
  • Five (5) years of related work experience in Contract Administration, Vendor Management or Purchasing, preferably in a healthcare provider setting
  • PeopleSoft preferred, Microsoft Excel, Visio, Word, and PowerPoint
