About the position

The Caregiver / Med Tech is responsible for providing care and support to residents, ensuring their well-being and safety. This role requires a responsible demeanor to instill confidence in residents regarding their care needs. The caregiver must be knowledgeable about policies and procedures, communicate effectively, and assist with various personal care tasks while maintaining confidentiality and cleanliness in the living environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintains the community's philosophy.
• Is knowledgeable of policies and procedures.
• Reads and understands the daily 24-hour communication reports.
• Understands the resident alert status and reports any changes immediately.
• Follows the resident's interim service plan as care needs change.
• Assists with all care needs including toileting, ambulation, bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene.
• Maintains good communication skills and appropriate phone etiquette.
• Notifies Resident Care Coordinator/Health and Wellness Director of resident changes of condition.
• Assists in the dining room during meal times including setup and serving.
• Responsible for getting residents ready for scheduled activities and appointments.
• Reports any safety issues in resident's apartments to maintenance or management.
• Maintains cleanliness of the employee break room and resident apartments.
• Capable of taking accurate vital signs and weight.
• Completes incident reports accurately.
• Performs assigned housekeeping duties and maintains general cleanliness of the resident's apartment.
• Keeps current on First Aid/CPR as directed by management.

Requirements

• Valid First Aid Certification.
• Experience in phone etiquette.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Proficiency in English preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience in caregiving preferred.
