About the position

The Direct Support Professional Caregiver at Sevita plays a crucial role in providing community-based services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This position focuses on assisting individuals in living as independently as possible by supporting their daily living skills and therapeutic plans. Responsibilities

• Provide assistance and strategies to individuals to help them live independently.
• Transport and support individuals in community settings for outings, medical appointments, and shopping.
• Assist with daily living skills, including meal preparation and medication administration.
• Guide individuals on developmental goals such as community participation, budgeting, exercise, nutrition, and vocational responsibilities.
• Support individuals with personal hygiene, grooming, and bathing.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Six months of experience in human services preferred.
• Valid driver's license in good standing.
• Successful clearance of background checks.
• A reliable and responsible attitude.
