About the position
The Open Pit Electrician position at Nevada Gold Mines involves maintaining and repairing electrical systems on various heavy mining equipment, including electric shovels and haul trucks. The role requires a strong background in industrial electrical work, particularly in an open pit mining environment, and the ability to perform miscellaneous electrical duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair electrical systems on P&H 2800XPA/B and 4100 XPB/C electric shovels.
- Maintain and repair electrical systems on 930E and 685 Komatsu Haul Trucks.
- Perform HV Switchgear and HV cable repairs.
- Carry out miscellaneous electrical duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Two (2) years electrical experience in an open pit mining environment preferred.
- Industrial electrical experience preferred.
- Experience with programmable logic controls (PLC) SL504 and motor control circuits preferred.
- Experience with maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems on P&H 2800XPA/B & 4100 XPB/C shovels and 685E and 930E electric haul trucks preferred.
- Ability to read electrical blueprints and utilize test equipment preferred.
- Ability to utilize basic hand tools required.
- MSHA electrical cards preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
- Capability to multi-task, self-manage, and self-motivate required.
- Demonstrates good attendance and performance records.
