About the position

We are looking for a motivated and friendly Customer Service Associate / Cashier to join our team. This part-time role involves being the first point of contact for customers, providing exceptional service, and efficiently handling transactions. The position requires effective communication skills to create a welcoming environment, enhance customer satisfaction, and drive sales.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist them with their inquiries, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
• Operate the cash register accurately, handling cash transactions and providing change as needed.
• Perform cash handling and maintain accurate records of sales and transactions.
• Utilize basic math skills to calculate totals and process payments efficiently.
• Upsell products by effectively communicating promotions and demonstrating product features.
• Assist in stocking shelves and maintaining inventory levels to ensure product availability.
• Conduct product demos to educate customers about new items and enhance their shopping experience.
• Supervise junior staff members when necessary, providing guidance and support in daily operations.

Requirements

• Previous experience in customer service or retail is preferred but not required.
• Strong cash handling skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Basic math proficiency for accurate transaction processing.
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
• Ability to upsell products through persuasive communication techniques.
• Familiarity with retail math concepts is a plus.
• A proactive approach to stocking and maintaining merchandise displays.
• Willingness to learn about new products and services offered by the company.
