About the position

This part-time position requires the employee to manage the delivery of care and ensure patient safety. The schedule includes every other Sunday from 11:30 AM to 7:30 PM and every other Saturday from 8 AM to 8 PM. The role involves educating patients about procedures, obtaining and documenting patient history, and ensuring proper identification of patients according to National Patient Safety Goals (NPSG). The employee will verify and follow doctor's orders, maintain patient privacy, and produce quality diagnostic images for interpretation. Additionally, the position requires familiarity with emergency equipment and medications, adherence to infection control standards, and documentation of CT and PET/CT procedures in patient charts. The employee must demonstrate an understanding of the safety, health, and morale needs of customers and co-workers, prepare patients for procedures, operate medical imaging equipment safely, and maintain current knowledge of the Meditech computer system.

Responsibilities

  • Position patients and apply sterile technique
  • Familiarize with emergency equipment and medications
  • Adhere to infection control standards
  • Document CT and PET/CT procedures in patient chart
  • Understand and meet safety, health, and morale needs of customers/co-workers
  • Prepare patients for procedures and provide instructions
  • Operate medical imaging equipment properly and safely
  • Follow department standards for reporting malfunctions
  • Maintain knowledge of Meditech computer system
  • Track all CT and PET/CT procedures for charge generation
  • Operate computer and digital equipment
  • Operate consoles for correct radiographic images
  • Follow CT procedures for biopsies and interventional procedures
  • Select and prepare proper equipment and supplies
  • Assess patients for potential risk to IV contrast
  • Prepare and assist in the administration of contrast materials
  • Fill out Medication Reconciliation forms and review with patients
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
