About the position

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Catering Manager to oversee our catering operations and ensure exceptional service delivery. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of catering sales, from direct sales to client relationship management, while leading a team to execute successful events. This role requires strong negotiation skills, the ability to analyze market trends, and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective catering sales strategies to drive business growth.
  • Manage B2B relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
  • Utilize Toast catering for tracking leads, managing client interactions, and analyzing sales performance.
  • Conduct cold calling to generate new business opportunities and expand the client base.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff and event coordinators to ensure seamless execution of catering services.
  • Negotiate contracts with clients, ensuring favorable terms while maintaining profitability.
  • Provide exceptional customer service throughout the planning and execution of events.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor offerings to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation in catering services.
  • Train and manage catering staff to uphold company standards in service delivery.

Requirements

  • Must have at least 3 years of sales management or catering sales management experience.
  • Must have a high level of understanding and knowledge about the restaurant industry with a focus in delivery and/or catering.
  • Exceptional aptitude of restaurant operations is required.
  • Must be highly motivated, creative, and a team player.
  • Strong knowledge of the Houston market, including connections with local businesses and event planners.
  • Proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills are necessary.
  • Ability to manage multiple events simultaneously with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and event planning tools is essential.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed to accommodate events.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in retail sales is a plus, providing additional insight into customer preferences and trends.
