About the position

The CBA NDI Inspector position at Vertex Aerospace involves performing non-destructive inspections (NDI) of aircraft, engines, and support equipment using specialized equipment to detect faults or defects. The role requires adherence to safety regulations and procedures while maintaining a customer-oriented approach. The inspector will also be responsible for maintaining logs, coordinating with supervision, and ensuring compliance with various safety and environmental standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform non-destructive inspections of aircraft, engines, and components using specialized equipment.
  • Maintain efficiency logs and records in accordance with COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 Series.
  • Coordinate with supervision and quality control to resolve questions concerning serviceability and repair procedures.
  • Assist with ordering parts, tools, materials, and equipment as required.
  • Document work accomplished on Maintenance Actions Forms (MAF) or work orders in NALCOMIS System.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the work center and assigned work areas.
  • Adhere to Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention rules and regulations.
  • Comply with established general and industrial safety rules and regulations.
  • Perform corrosion control cleaning, prevention, and treatment as required.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on assigned shop and support equipment.
  • Comply with hazardous material/waste program and environmental regulations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years recent aircraft and component non-destructive inspection experience in various inspection techniques.
  • Knowledge of aircraft, engine, and aviation-related support equipment.
  • Familiarity with COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 Series and other applicable Navy instructions.
  • Knowledge of material safety data sheets and applicable safety precautions.
  • Valid state operator's license and ability to pass Government licensing requirements.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand the English language.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with handling and disposing of hazardous material/waste.
  • Certification for 40 hours of Radiation Safety Training.
  • Experience in performing maintenance in support of O, I, and D level.
