About the position

The Customer Business Manager (CBM) Mid-Atlantic at Danone North America is responsible for driving sales strategies to enhance the growth of various business units at key retailers. This role serves as the primary contact for customers, focusing on understanding their business needs and developing strategies that align with both customer goals and company sales targets. The CBM will lead cross-functional efforts, manage customer relationships, and oversee the execution of business plans to achieve financial objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Build and execute the customer plan to grow the business.
  • Coordinate selling process for the given customer/channel/category to deliver profitable growth.
  • Gain a deep understanding of customer needs and priorities, including KPIs and competition.
  • Develop sales/account plans to meet customer objectives while adhering to corporate initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities for new product distribution and improve product exposure.
  • Negotiate with customer headquarters/category buyers on pricing and promotions.
  • Collaborate with customers and internal teams on joint business plans.
  • Leverage internal resources to drive success at customer level.
  • Enhance relationships with customers and Danone North America.
  • Develop a calendar for customer touchpoints and define meeting purposes.
  • Engage cross-functional experts with customers as needed.
  • Prepare and conduct scheduled customer business reviews.
  • Manage the development and delivery of customer presentations.
  • Represent Danone North America at tradeshows and events.
  • Monitor account performance and manage customer P&L.
  • Manage trade spending and promotional programs to meet targets.
  • Provide key inputs for demand planning and track account-level performance.
  • Communicate customer needs to internal stakeholders and lead cross-functional team communication.

Requirements

  • 4 year business degree
  • 3-5 years minimum experience with a CPG company in a customer-facing sales function
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, & active listening)
  • Strong analytical & problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to be both a self-starter and team player
  • Category management background is a plus
  • People management experience is an asset
