About the position

The Program Manager is responsible for managing multi-institutional, interdisciplinary STEllAR programs at the Center to ensure that implementation and prescribed activities are carried out in accordance with specified objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of multi-institutional, interdisciplinary STEllAR programs at the Center to ensure that implementation and prescribed activities are carried out in accordance with specified objectives: Plans and develops methods and procedures for implementing program, directs program activities, and exercises control over personnel responsible for specific functions or phases of program. Ensure that activities are carried out in accordance with established specifications, schedules, and budgets.
  • Pre-Award: Work with STEllAR PIs to identify new funding opportunities, proposal preparation/submission, and project planning for pending awards.
  • Post-Award: Manage all grants and contracts for the STEllAR group to ensure spending for current grants are budgeted, reconciled, and projected appropriately and to ensure personnel time is optimally allocated and documented.
  • Seek and facilitate means by which to maximize team and individual efforts of the STEllAR group(publications, posters, talks, collaborations). Serve as editor on all material and annual reports published by the group. Facilitate and manage strategic partnerships with external collaborators (academia and industry). Establish and maintain database records and file system to track and report on all activities and to support project management efforts. Develop and implement various program related communications such as websites, publication, multimedia or video productions.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience in research and/or administrative environment.
  • Specific experience: Management of multiple, complex projects; strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse group of senior management, collaborators, faculty, staff, and students.
