About the position

The position involves assigning work within the department or cell based on customer backlog and established commitments, as well as following the direction of the manager or supervisor. The role requires collaboration with support groups to maintain and update necessary documentation for specific tasks. The individual is responsible for upholding the company's quality expectations and communicating any discrepancies within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and direct cell operators in daily tasks, ensuring adherence to first piece and assembly processes.
  • Perform assembly operations on electronic components and subassemblies using work process procedures, written instructions, diagrams, and specifications.
  • Monitor the accuracy of time capacities assigned to builds and request changes through engineering technicians as needed.
  • Ensure all products are assembled according to company and customer specifications and procedures.
  • Supervise the group to ensure compliance with work instructions, avoiding reliance on past knowledge due to constant changes in instructions.
  • Communicate issues that may negatively impact the department's ability to meet business goals.
  • Inform the team about all non-conforming material (NCM) from the Quality Department and feedback from RMAs returned by customers.
  • Ensure continuous execution of Labor Entry and Move transactions in ERP systems for operational departments.
  • Identify and resolve assembly and quality issues, seeking assistance from support personnel when necessary and notifying supervisors or managers.
  • Complete all in-house training as identified in job-specific training plans.
  • Adhere to ESD requirements and Board Handling protocols.
  • Follow Moisture Sensitive Device (MSD) handling requirements based on components' Moisture Sensitive Levels (MSL).
  • Support corporate and site 6S objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Pass IPC-A-610 Modules 1 & 2 workmanship standards.
  • Knowledge of IPC-DVD-64C Component Identification.
  • Ability to utilize Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Physical ability to lift/carry a minimum of 20 lbs and stand, bend, push, lift/carry, and stoop for at least 8 hours per day.
  • Ability to read and interpret online documentation, work instructions, and ERP screens relevant to the department.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and perform high-level serial tasking.
  • Basic understanding and application of engineering processes and documentation.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1-3 years experience in a contract electronics manufacturing environment preferred.
