About the position

The Center Operations Manager II at Octapharma Plasma is responsible for overseeing the compliance and operational efficiency of plasma collection centers. This role involves ensuring adherence to state and federal regulations, managing staff performance, and collaborating on quality improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and operational efficiency. The position requires strong leadership skills to foster a positive work culture and ensure safety practices are implemented effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains compliance with state and federal regulations including FDA, OSHA, CLIA, and GMP.
  • Assists in hosting internal and external inspections by regulatory agencies and customers.
  • Collaborates in quality improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and product quality.
  • Implements corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address identified issues.
  • Mitigates and resolves safety concerns within the center.
  • Oversees preventive maintenance of donor center equipment.
  • Prepares product shipments ensuring compliance with Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Achieves targeted production in quantity and quality while optimizing operational costs.
  • Provides feedback for employee performance evaluations and development plans.
  • Collaborates on employment decisions including hiring and terminations.
  • Conducts area walkthroughs to maintain a visible presence in production zones.
  • Assists with scheduling and payroll records for efficient employee hour allocation.
  • Coordinates staff and leadership meetings to enhance productivity.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Trained in all production areas.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred; other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  • 1-3 years of operations and/or process management/supervisory experience preferred.
  • 1-3 years of people management experience required, including recruiting and training.
  • Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions required.
  • Background in financial management and/or budgeting preferred.
  • Ability to work daytime and evening hours, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a medical or biopharmaceutical environment.
  • Knowledge of safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.
