About the position

The Centers of Excellence Manager at Cook County Health & Hospitals System is responsible for ensuring that the requirements for Centers of Excellence align with the organization's goals and operational direction. This role focuses on establishing an environment that promotes professional growth, operational progress, and clinical excellence, while developing strategic priorities and implementing operational supports for the ambulatory workforce to achieve key performance metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure requirements for Centers of Excellence are met and aligned with organizational goals.
  • Establish an environment that facilitates professional growth and operational progress.
  • Develop strategic priorities and implement operational supports for ambulatory workforce.
  • Conduct needs assessments for optimal operational functioning and staff development.
  • Design and implement scalable ambulatory services strategies to improve operations and patient satisfaction.
  • Collect and leverage data for decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with ambulatory leadership to enact performance improvement strategies.
  • Work with Human Resources on training and performance management strategies.
  • Support leadership in planning and implementing improvements using evidence-based change management.
  • Collect and incorporate best practices from the ambulatory field for staff training.
  • Collaborate with the Quality department to ensure compliance with legal and accreditation requirements.
  • Advise ambulatory leadership on enhancing goals to positively influence performance indicators.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or Bachelor's degree with relevant experience.
  • High school diploma or GED with five years of experience in strategic planning or organizational development.
  • Two years of experience supervising and/or managing staff.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience in strategic planning and change management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience coaching teams and managers.
  • Experience working with a unionized workforce.
  • Certification in change management, coaching, or counseling.
