Apalachee Center, Inc. is dedicated to assisting individuals and families in North Florida in overcoming emotional, psychiatric, and substance abuse crises. The organization provides a wide range of behavioral health services across eight counties, including Franklin, Gadsden, Jefferson, Leon, Liberty, Madison, Taylor, and Wakulla. The RN position at the Central Receiving Facility (CRF) is crucial in ensuring that clients receive timely and appropriate care upon their arrival. The RN will be responsible for conducting pre-admission nursing screenings, triaging clients, and performing nursing assessments to gather essential information about each individual's medical history and current medications. This role requires effective communication with various stakeholders, including family members, nursing homes, and pharmacies, to ensure comprehensive care for clients. The RN will work closely with psychiatrists and nursing staff to review assessment findings and provide immediate medication as needed to address urgent medical or behavioral health symptoms. Crisis management is a key component of this role, which may involve initiating seclusion or Emergency Treatment Orders/Holds when necessary. Additionally, the RN will provide support to the team and co-supervise CRF Associates, drivers, and other team members in the absence of the CRF Team Leader. The RN's responsibilities also include ensuring compliance with medication management policies, conducting ongoing assessments of clients, and coordinating admissions to the facility to ensure a smooth transition for clients entering care. The position requires a commitment to maintaining high standards of care and documentation, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to support the needs of clients in crisis. The RN will play a vital role in the overall functioning of the CRF and contribute to the mission of Apalachee Center, Inc. to provide quality behavioral health services to the community.
