About the position

Tanner Clinic has an immediate opening for a Central Scheduling Representative located at the Kaysville Business Office. This is a full-time position that involves answering and making appointments for all incoming patient calls quickly and professionally, while gathering enough information to schedule accurately. The representative will be informed of the daily operations of approximately 100 physicians and their appointment preferences, ensuring proper handling of patient account alerts that may affect the patient’s visit to the clinic. The role also includes conveying all necessary information pertinent to the appointment, responding to last minute schedule changes, making outbound scheduling calls, and maintaining strict patient, computer, and company confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Answer and make appointments for all incoming patient calls quickly and professionally.
  • Gather enough information to schedule appointments accurately.
  • Be informed of the daily operations of approximately 100 physicians and their appointment preferences.
  • Ensure proper handling of patient account alerts that may affect the patient’s visit to the clinic.
  • Convey all necessary information pertinent to the appointment, including insurance information, office location, date and time for appointment, and instructions to bring reports or x-rays.
  • Respond to last minute schedule changes for physicians.
  • Make outbound scheduling calls as needed for Population Health Management or other reasons.
  • Make appointment reminder calls as required.
  • Work within the clinic’s EPM system and have a working knowledge of the EHR system.
  • Maintain strict patient, computer, and company confidentiality.
  • Maintain professional interaction with providers and all employees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Central scheduling representative experience preferred.
  • Previous healthcare experience and/or familiarity with medical terminology helpful.
  • Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Suite and other computer programs.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor during stressful or emergency situations.
  • Ability to demonstrate compassion, courtesy and respect to all patients and their families.
