About the position

The Athletic Trainer is a certified and licensed professional who plays a crucial role in the clinical and outreach settings, acting as a liaison between patients and the medical team, including doctors and orthopedic/sports medicine specialists. This position is primarily focused on the assessment and care of acute or chronic youth athletic injuries and musculoskeletal conditions. The Athletic Trainer will follow patients from community outreach events, ensuring that all needs of both the patients and doctors are met to provide the best possible physician/patient experience. In addition to direct patient care, the Athletic Trainer will perform various allied duties and collaborate with physicians in accordance with their licensure and scope of practice. This includes maintaining clinical competency and proper documentation as per the standards set forth in the profession. The Athletic Trainer will also participate as a member of the medical team, engaging in essential functions and activities that support the operations of the department. Compliance with medical and legal requirements during sporting events or activities is a critical aspect of this role. Furthermore, the Athletic Trainer is expected to stay updated on the latest techniques in the enhancement, prevention, and care of athletic injuries, ensuring the highest level of care for the patients.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a liaison between patients and the medical team, including doctors and orthopedic/sports medicine specialists.

  • Follow patients from community outreach events to ensure their needs are met.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training or related field (Required).
  • BOC National Certification - Athletic Training from the National Athletic Trainer Association.
  • State Athletic Training Licensure from the Ohio OTPTAT Board.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in Athletic Training or related field (Preferred).
