About the position

We are actively seeking a committed individual to join our dynamic team as a Certified Nurse Midwife! The Nurse Midwife manages women's health care, focusing particularly on pregnancy, childbirth, the postpartum period, care of the newborn, and the family planning and gynecologic needs of women. Practice within the health care system and perform consultation, collaborative management, or referral, as indicated by the health status of the client. Co-manages higher risk patients when determined appropriate by CNM and supervising physician. Practice in accord with the Standards for the Practice of Midwifery, as defined by the American College of Nurse Midwives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide prenatal care (limited) to pregnant women and postnatal care to mothers and infants, as appropriate.
  • Refer patients to medical or obstetrical specialist for consultant services when necessary for patient's well-being.
  • Administer Family Planning services in compliance with title X Rules and Regulations/Protocols.
  • Provide women's health services, including reproductive health, interconception, abnormal uterine bleeding, dysmenorrhea, pelvic pain, pelvic floor disorders, incontinence, and other health care services to women, as appropriate.
  • Perform obstetrical and gynecological surgical procedures commensurate with scope of practice and surgical competency, including office based obstetric and gynecological procedures such as colposcopy, endometrial biopsies, IUD placements, contraceptive implants, etc.
  • Prescribe routine vaccinations to immunize patient from communicable diseases.
  • Provide consultation to mid-level practitioners, physicians, medical students, resident physicians or physician extender students.
  • Collaborate and consult with other medical and non-medical personnel.
  • Diagnose, treat, and monitor diseases, disorders, and conditions.
  • Prescribe appropriate medications to treat patients in accordance with standardized procedures and company policy.
  • Educate patients on importance of treatment plans and communicate side effects and risk of medications prescribed.
  • Conduct routine check-up appointments and maintain follow up throughout patients' care.
  • Demonstrate effective and detailed written documentation skills.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service and communication with patients.
  • Able to multitask and manage assigned projects and tasks as directed.
  • Commitment to mission of CSC Health as demonstrated by with clinic involvement and engaging in healthcare community events.
  • Provider may be used in a variety of locations depending upon the need of the organization, with occasional Saturday shifts.
  • Employees are responsible for maintaining individual certifications as required by job function or by law and provide verification and recertification when requested by management.
  • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Certified Nurse Midwife (California) required.
  • Registered Nurse License (California) required.
  • Nurse Midwife National Certification from American Midwifery Certification Board required.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records; Nextgen preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent independent judgment, problem-solving, analytical and collaborative skills.
  • Must have the emotional intelligence that may include, but not limited to, patience, sensitivity and the compassion to work with patients that may be stressed, anxious, and difficult.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong decision-making, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good organizational, leadership, and team working skills.
  • Must demonstrate detailed, effective writing/documentation and verbal skills.
  • A caring and compassionate nature when working with patients, children and their families.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual in English and Chinese or Spanish is a plus, but not required.
