About the position
The Pharmacy Technician plays a crucial role in the pharmacy team at OhioHealth, focusing on medication inventory management, preparation, and distribution to patient care areas. This position involves labeling, packaging, and stocking medications, as well as preparing sterile and non-sterile compounds. The technician is responsible for interpreting and distributing pharmacy products while ensuring compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Manage medication inventory and ensure proper labeling and packaging of medications.
- Prepare sterile and non-sterile compounds for patient care.
- Utilize automated devices to create ready-to-use medications.
- Document the distribution of medication for proper use and reimbursement.
- Process refill requests for non-monitored pharmacy medications.
- Participate in production, packaging, record keeping, and stocking tasks.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Registered as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy.
- Good communication skills and ability to gather and interpret data.
