About the position

East High is seeking a dedicated and passionate special education teacher to work with students in grades 9-12 who have a variety of verification identifications. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to create strong relationships with all students, demonstrating a commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment. This role requires practical communication skills and the ability to drive instruction through daily assessments and quality feedback to all learners. The successful candidate will be willing to serve the East High Community in all aspects, embodying the qualities of a reflective educator who is eager to learn and grow in the art of teaching. In this position, the special education teacher will engage in co-teaching with classroom teachers, collaborating closely with general education teachers to ensure that all students receive the support they need. The teacher will also be responsible for supporting students in Interventions & Strategies and other academic areas as necessary. This collaborative approach is essential to help students achieve their educational goals and to promote their overall success within the school environment. The teacher will implement practices of cultural proficiency, applying these principles with students, staff, and families to create a welcoming and equitable educational experience for all.

Responsibilities
