The Experienced Chemical Engineer II position at Honeywell UOP offers a unique opportunity to work both in the U.S. and internationally as part of a Field Operating Service (FOS) team. This role involves collaborating with technology experts from UOP's Operating Technical Service to provide on-site support during the commissioning of UOP technologies. FOS advisors play a crucial role in ensuring that plants and operators are prepared for the initial start-up of UOP technologies, which includes being present before, during, and after the start-up process. They are responsible for troubleshooting, providing technical assistance, and ensuring that all safety procedures are followed during the commissioning activities. Advisors are expected to engage in various activities, including coordinating commissioning efforts, transferring technology to customer operating and engineering staff, and advising on the establishment and maintenance of process variables necessary for safe and efficient operations. The role requires a strong focus on building effective relationships with customer counterparts and conducting unit audits to support refinery-wide expansion projects. The position demands flexibility, as advisors may travel for extended periods, typically ranging from a few days to several months, depending on the project requirements. As advisors gain experience, they have opportunities to advance within the FOS organization or transition to other areas within UOP, such as Technical Service, Engineering, Equipment, Development, Manufacturing, or Sales. The experience gained in this role is vital for personal development and contributes significantly to the success of UOP's customers.
