About the position

The Power Generation Chemical Engineer at We Energies will support the operation, maintenance, performance, and optimization of the Power Generation fleet. This role involves providing chemical and environmental engineering support to various thermal and renewable power generation facilities in Wisconsin and Upper Peninsula Michigan, ensuring adherence to safety and environmental standards while optimizing plant performance.

Responsibilities

• Perform troubleshooting, performance evaluations, optimization, failure analysis, and asset management of plant cycle chemistry, makeup water systems, plant wastewater, emissions control systems, and related equipment.
• Manage the fleet cycle chemistry programs, including monitoring and troubleshooting of operating conditions and updating program standards as necessary.
• Prepare engineering designs, perform engineering calculations, and ensure adherence to applicable codes and standards.
• Perform equipment testing, troubleshooting, and data analysis.
• Support and learn performance monitoring/optimization tools to ensure improved equipment and system reliability, efficiency and performance.
• Manage small to medium sized projects, including material and equipment specifications, cost estimates, economic analysis, proposal review, and overseeing construction.
• Evaluate chemicals and chemical processes for safety and performance.
• Update drawings and other engineering documentation and maintain corporate records.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
• 5+ years of relevant engineering experience

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering Degree.
• Power Plant, cycle chemistry, environmental, or chemical engineering experience.
