About the position

The Chemical Process Engineer will assist in the design, development, and optimization of chemical processes. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, the Chemical Process Engineer will conduct experiments, analyze data, and support the implementation of process improvements. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in chemical engineering principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and a desire to learn and grow within the field. This role is crucial for ensuring that chemical processes are efficient, safe, and compliant with industry standards. In this position, the engineer will assist in the design and development of chemical processes, which includes conducting experiments, analyzing data, and preparing reports. The engineer will support senior engineers in optimizing existing processes to improve efficiency, yield, and safety. Conducting laboratory experiments to test process parameters, formulations, and equipment performance will be a key responsibility. The engineer will also collect and analyze process data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement. Additionally, the Chemical Process Engineer will prepare and maintain technical documentation, including process flow diagrams, operating procedures, and batch records. They will assist in the scale-up of processes from laboratory to pilot and commercial scale. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including research and development, production, and quality control, will be essential to ensure seamless integration of process improvements. Monitoring process performance and troubleshooting issues to ensure consistent quality and compliance with regulatory standards will also be part of the role. The engineer will participate in continuous improvement initiatives, applying best practices and innovative solutions to enhance process performance. Staying current with industry trends, advancements in chemical engineering, and regulatory changes will be necessary to support process development and optimization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • 1-5 years of experience in chemical process engineering.
  • Strong understanding of chemical engineering principles, process design, and unit operations.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a detail-oriented approach to work.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA) preferred.
