About the position

Idaho National Laboratory is seeking a Chemical Engineer to join our Modeling & Simulation department. This position is based in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where our team operates on a 9x80 schedule, allowing for every other Friday off. As a Chemical Engineer, you will leverage your expertise in chemical engineering principles to engage in computational modeling focused on fluid dynamics and heat transfer processes. Your work will emphasize multiphase flow and chemical reactions, contributing to a variety of applications including waste management, nuclear and renewable energy, additive manufacturing, and clean energy systems. In this role, you will be responsible for documenting designs, which includes creating controlled and approved models, drawings, specifications, and design descriptions to ensure compliance with design requirements and applicable codes and standards. You will establish testing, inspection, and quality requirements to maintain the technical features critical to design functions. Additionally, you will oversee fabrication, construction, assembly, and procurement processes to ensure they align with the established designs. Your responsibilities will also include developing processes for separating components of liquids and gases, or generating electrical currents through controlled chemical processes. You will utilize programming skills to develop and implement process controls and tracking mechanisms for both existing applications and newly implemented processes, equipment, and applications that support the overarching programmatic drivers and goals.

Responsibilities
