About the position

The Chemical Production Engineer position is a direct hire opportunity with a major, established, global company located in Ashland, KY, near Parkersburg and Marietta, OH. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring, developing, and improving manufacturing processes by studying product and manufacturing methods. This includes proposing, organizing, and implementing work to complete projects and achieve both group and individual objectives. Responsibilities

  • Detect problems and situations that require deviation from normal procedures and implement corrective actions.
  • Interpret and/or analyze data, and draw conclusions based on the data.
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures, daily instructions, and other written communications.
  • Conduct Process Hazards Analyses (PHA).
  • Analyze historical and trended data to inform operational decisions.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in chemical manufacturing or petrol/refinement.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or 10 years' experience in a chemical plant environment.
  • Experience with batch/semi-continuous operations and distillation is a plus.
  • Experience in resins/coatings is a plus.
  • Environmental reporting experience is a plus.
  • Some knowledge of controls is preferred.
  • Experience in process improvement.
