About the position

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the College Community School District will provide strategic leadership and expertise in the district's business and operational functions. This role is essential for ensuring the best possible educational services are delivered within the financial resources available. The CFO will oversee the preparation of the annual budget, manage business office functions, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations while supporting the completion of capital projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the annual budget for the district.
• Oversee business office functions and support structures.
• Supervise the Accounting Supervisor-Business Office Manager and other Business Office staff.
• Oversee district operations through three directors: Nutrition, Transportation, and Building & Grounds.
• Monitor and ensure adherence to state and federal regulations and reporting requirements.
• Assist in ensuring on-time and on-budget completion of capital projects.

Requirements

• Undergraduate or advanced degree in accounting or school district administration.
• Current endorsement as an Iowa School Business Official in Iowa.
• Previous experience in school business office settings is required.
• Previous experience as a school business official and managing others is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills, confidentiality, systems thinking, and ethical decision-making.
