About the position

The Chief of Staff, Marketing role at Lyft, Inc. is a contract position based in San Francisco, CA, reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer. This position is designed for a highly skilled leader who excels in cross-functional collaboration, strategic planning, and executive-level advising. The Chief of Staff will play a crucial role in enhancing the productivity of the Marketing Leadership Team by managing strategic initiatives, overseeing program management, and facilitating communication across departments. The ideal candidate will thrive in ambiguous environments and will be responsible for driving alignment on organizational goals, improving workflows, and executing key initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Drive alignment around setting strategy, drafting Quarterly Business Reports, and finalizing and executing on the 2025 annual plan.
  • Help build a successful and healthy organization by reviewing, designing, and executing improvements to org structure.
  • Drive the priorities of the Marketing Leadership Team through weekly meetings and shaping offsites.
  • Drive executive business reviews in partnership with the Chief of Staff to the CEO.
  • Communicate priorities, activities, and results to the larger organization, ensuring deliverables are met.
  • Facilitate internal communications within the Marketing team and the broader Lyft organization.
  • Identify and take on ad-hoc strategic projects, defining new opportunities and executing key initiatives.
  • Drive and monitor OKRs and KPIs and executive performance reporting for the organization.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-departmental executives and staff to execute on key deliverables and initiatives.
  • Work with Finance, People, and other cross-functional teams to drive employee satisfaction and budget management.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in a management role, preferably in marketing at a high-growth technology company.
  • M.B.A. or related advanced degree is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience in planning & process, strategic and/or financial planning, organizational change, and communications & strategy execution.
  • Proven ability to track, prioritize, and drive multiple concurrent projects to success.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence across multiple levels of the organization.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a high tolerance for ambiguity and complexity.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in or fluency with the Marketing function at a high-growth technology company.
  • Proven experience designing and leading strategic planning at a hyper-growth company.
