About the position

The Chief of Staff position provides a single interface for U.S. Indo-Pacific Command Warfighters through a collaborative network of forward positioned and continental U.S. based DLA support capabilities for all business operations and strategic planning programs. The role addresses and develops strategies for legislative and policy issues affecting DLA Indo-Pacific, implementing new or revised programs and operations. The Chief of Staff ensures the efficiency and effectiveness of operations, weighing mission impact of programs and budgetary resources and military/civilian staffing requirements for command consideration. This position is responsible for providing support, assistance, and advice to DLA programs, policies, and procedures on safety of personnel property for DLA activities in compliance with applicable laws, regulations and policies to safeguard health and safety. The Chief of Staff serves as a second-level supervisor to the region's Safety and Occupational Health Staff and develops strategic communications.

Requirements

  • Tour of Duty: Set Schedule.
  • Security Requirements: Special Sensitive/SCI.
  • Appointment is subject to the completion of a favorable suitability or fitness determination.

  • Selective Service Requirement: Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
  • Supervisory Probation: Required.
  • Completion of Supervisory Certification Program: Required.
  • Financial Disclosure: Required.
  • This position may be used to fill various shifts located within DLA Indo-Pacific in Pearl Harbor, HI.
  • Subject to Overseas Rotation Agreement, Tour Length: Yes, 36 months.
  • This is a Mission Essential (ME) position.
