About the position

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Care Alliance Health Center is a senior-level leadership role responsible for overseeing the strategic daily operations of the organization. The COO will work closely with the CEO to implement a vision for service, development, and growth, ensuring high-quality medical and dental care is provided to the community, particularly to the most vulnerable populations. This position requires a dynamic leader who can drive results and maintain a cohesive operational approach across all departments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and processes to align with the strategic plans set by the CEO.
  • Design and oversee initiatives that promote Care Alliance's culture and vision across all departments.
  • Lead large-scale organizational projects and initiatives as directed by the CEO, ensuring timely revisions and successful implementation.
  • Direct and oversee the Facilities and Transportation teams to ensure operational quality standards are met.
  • Develop operational strategies to optimize high-quality, cost-effective processes and manage key performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with the CFO on data analysis and ensure compliance in organizational reporting.
  • Ensure operations meet local, state, and federal regulations, promoting risk mitigation strategies.
  • Act as the organization's representative at community events and Board meetings in the CEO's absence.
  • Partner with the CMO and other directors to enhance provider efficiency and improve patient access and quality of care.
  • Identify and implement improvements in care quality and operational performance in collaboration with the Quality Director.
  • Foster an inclusive work environment, provide leadership, and conduct performance appraisals for direct reports.
  • Build and sustain collaborative relationships with the CEO, executive team, Board, and community partners.
  • Uphold and enforce the organization's confidentiality policies.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, Human Services, or related discipline.
  • 5 to 10 years of progressively responsible management experience in health care or human service-related organizations.
  • Minimum of 3 years FQHC leadership experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to represent the organization publicly.
  • Ability to lead, guide, and direct a team of professional staff effectively.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects.
