About the position

The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Luminous Tec will lead the technology organization, overseeing game and server engineers across two locations. This role is pivotal in shaping the engineering team's structure, recruiting talent, and providing technical leadership for various projects aimed at enhancing the company's gaming technology and infrastructure. The CTO will also play a significant role in strategic decision-making as part of the senior executive team.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technology organization, including game and server engineers across Mountain View, CA and Seoul, South Korea.
• Recruit new engineers and establish standards of excellence for the engineering team.
• Mentor and develop engineering talent, fostering a culture of collaboration and learning.
• Provide technical leadership and oversight for projects planned over the next two years, including integrating third-party learning apps and evolving the game services platform.
• Offer thought leadership on the evolution of the Adaptive Learning Platform and overall technology infrastructure.
• Participate in key strategic and operational decisions as a member of the senior executive team.

Requirements

• 15+ years of software design, architecture, and implementation experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience at a gaming company, with 3 years at a MMORPG company preferred.
• Familiarity with various engineering stacks, specifically Java and C++, as well as game technologies and APIs.
• Proven track record of building and leading strong engineering teams that inspire and motivate engineers.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, math, or engineering.
