Mentorship is also a significant aspect of this role, as the Chief Underwriter will guide Regional Account underwriters and other staff members. Responsibilities

  • Manage Group Life & Disability underwriting for National Accounts (5,000 or more lives).
  • Oversee pre and post-sale underwriting, profit management, renewal processing, and policy issuance.
  • Demonstrate technical proficiency in underwriting guidelines and risk management philosophy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 5 years of Group Benefits underwriting experience.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining relationships with business partners.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to think analytically about business problems and propose solutions.
