Christian School Teacher

About the position

Evangel Christian Academy is seeking a passionate and dedicated school teacher for 6th/7th Grade to educate and inspire students in a supportive Christian environment. The role involves developing lesson plans, assessing student progress, and fostering a positive learning atmosphere that promotes both spiritual and academic growth. The academy values small class sizes and a collaborative culture among educators and families.

Responsibilities

• Pray daily for your students, classroom, colleagues, and school
• Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans in accordance with Christian curriculum guidelines
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and growth spiritually and academically
• Assess student progress through various methods such as standardized tests, classroom tests, projects, and assignments
• Provide individualized attention and support to students who may require additional assistance
• Foster a love for learning by incorporating interactive activities and educational games into lessons
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a cohesive educational experience for students
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and behavior
• Communicate regularly with parents or guardians to provide updates on student progress

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• Previous experience working with students in an educational or Church setting
• Strong knowledge of Christian curriculum development and instructional techniques
• Ability to effectively manage a classroom and maintain discipline
• Experience working with children of various ages and backgrounds
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, empathy, and the ability to connect with students on an individual level

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with preschool, special education, math education, English education, or history education is a plus but not required
• Experience teaching for at least 1 year
