About the position

The position involves providing professional engineering analysis, assistance, and guidance for facilities and infrastructure. Responsibilities include offering on-site technical advice for maintenance and building activities, conducting facility studies, and performing customer representative functions while collaborating with military units to evaluate requirements and educate them on engineering processes for repair and construction.

Responsibilities

  • Furnish professional engineering analysis, assistance and guidance using detailed written, drawn or verbal methods for facilities and infrastructure.
  • Provide on-site technical advice and guidance on various facility or infrastructure maintenance and building activities.
  • Conduct facility studies, creating the study plan, researching and gathering data and citing sources of research data.
  • Perform customer representative functions and work directly with military units to evaluate requirements, provide education on engineering processes for repair and construction.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A Tier 1, Non Sensitive, Low Risk background is required throughout the appointment.
  • Must possess and maintain a current and valid state driver's license for site visits, maintenance and repairs.
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in engineering from an accredited program or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 52 weeks of experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service performing engineering work within facility or infrastructure repair and minor construction projects.

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional registration or licensure as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Evidence of having successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination.
  • Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences.
