About The Position

The Claims Representative II is responsible for handling property damage claims and low to mid-range bodily injury claims. This role involves investigating and adjusting claims, managing litigation, and interacting with various stakeholders including customers, insurance carriers, and legal counsel. The representative will also supervise outside vendors and ensure that claims are handled according to applicable laws and regulations.

Requirements

• Preferred Bachelor's degree and/or a minimum of two (2) years' experience in casualty claims.
• Two (2) years or more experience in casualty claims.
• Demonstrated ability to handle and resolve low-to-mid range liability exposures.
• Strong claim technical skills.
• Effective interpersonal skills and clear communication in verbal and written forms.
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to deal effectively with insurers.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Commercial Auto claims is a plus.
• Licenses are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Investigates and adjusts claims, directing independent adjusters and other vendors in the claim handling processes.
• Interacts with field and operations management, legal counsel, safety managers, customers, insurance carriers, and third party claimants.
• Manages litigation to ensure claims are handled appropriately according to jurisdiction.
• Assists Claim Manager in identifying exposures and recommending solutions.
• Manages indemnity and expense costs properly.
• Interacts with primary and excess insurance carriers and re-insurers on files meeting reporting thresholds.
• Alerts Claim Manager to changes in laws that could impact the liability program.
• Updates field operations personnel on claim status when requested.
• Supervises outside vendors and experts retained for investigation.
• Recommends and sets reserves to ensure they represent the probable ultimate payout based on documented file developments.
