About the position

The Front Office Clerk is a crucial role at Legacy Community Health, serving as the first point of contact for patients either over the phone or in person. This position is essential in creating a positive first impression of the organization, which can significantly influence the long-term patient-provider relationship. The clerk will handle various administrative tasks while ensuring a welcoming environment for patients seeking healthcare services.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding services and appointments.
  • Schedule patient appointments and manage the clinic's calendar.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and data entry.
  • Handle incoming calls efficiently, managing multiple lines as needed.
  • Assist with filing and organizing patient information and documents.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
  • Pleasant, professional, and articulate phone voice.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle many incoming calls or patients at once.
  • Efficient and accurate data-entry skills.
  • Computer literacy and experience with multi-line phone systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Basic knowledge of math, alphabetical or numerical filing.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting.
