As the Client Director, you will manage all aspects of medium to large Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC)/Service projects, including risk to cost, schedule, and quality. You will be responsible for the day-to-day successful execution of contracted engineering, procurement, and construction scope in the areas of performance, financial metrics, planning, schedule, quality, contractual compliance, safety, and client satisfaction. This role requires you to provide for the successful staffing of the project and manage and lead medium to large teams of multi-discipline professionals. You will coordinate and integrate the activities associated with the engineering, procurement, construction, and startup elements of the project team, including the activities of all third-party companies contributing to the initiative. Our business traveler work schedule includes BV professionals who travel consistently 60% or more of their work schedule and provide flexibility around being in an office location. On non-travel work weeks, professionals may work in a BV office location 3 days a week and in a remote location 2 days a week. The team you will be joining works to provide innovative solutions and integrated planning, design, and construction support for mission-critical facilities, as well as threat reduction and environmental services support worldwide. By joining our business, you will be able to provide infrastructure for community benefit through regulated utilities and government agencies. This team partners with our customers to align their people, processes, technologies, and data analytics in the face of industry transformation. You will be accountable for new business objectives and for overall project performance, leading team efforts for marketing, strategy development, prospect identification, proposal development, client presentations, project budgeting, and contracting for successful opportunities. You will also oversee engineering managers, develop project performance goals, and be actively involved with internal project teams and owner project representatives on project activities. Your role will include staff management, team development, mentoring, and coaching on performance improvement, as well as recommendations for training and promotion of assigned professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of medium to large Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC)/Service projects, including risk to cost, schedule, and quality.
  • Be responsible for the day-to-day successful execution of contracted engineering, procurement, and construction scope in the areas of performance, financial metrics, planning, schedule, quality, contractual compliance, safety, and client satisfaction.
  • Provide for the successful staffing of the project.
  • Manage and lead medium to large teams of multi-discipline professionals.
  • Coordinate and integrate the activities associated with the engineering, procurement, construction, and startup elements of the project team, including the activities of all third-party companies contributing to the initiative.
  • Lead team efforts for marketing, strategy development, prospect identification, proposal development, client presentations, project budgeting, and contracting for successful opportunities.
  • Support development of the overall market business plan, market strategies, and client engagement strategies.
  • Perform or assist with the performance and commercial management of projects including budgeting, invoicing, and payments; lead project performance reviews for assigned project(s).
  • Team development, mentoring, and coaching on performance improvement.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of active water/wastewater experience with demonstrated leadership experience in the Virginia Beach market.
  • Professional Engineering License; Bachelor's Degree in technical discipline.
  • Understanding of budgets and financial metrics.
  • Contract negotiation skills including knowledge of terms, risks, pricing, and payment terms.
  • Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
