About The Position

The Clinical Administrator at MedStar Medical Group is responsible for overseeing clinical and administrative resources to ensure high-quality, evidence-based nursing care. This role involves direct leadership during specific shifts, collaboration with nursing leadership, and adherence to regulatory standards. The Clinical Administrator serves as a professional role model, promoting a culture of continuous learning and patient-centered care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
  • Master's degree in Nursing or health-related field preferred.
  • 3-4 years of progressive nursing care experience required.
  • Leadership and management experience preferred.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Maryland required.
  • CPR certification required within 90 days.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and supervise clinical and administrative resources for nursing care.
  • Assume leadership authority during specific shifts for designated patient care units or the hospital.
  • Collaborate with nursing leadership and other administrators to maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Consult and communicate with nursing and hospital administration regarding operational issues.
  • Create a professional atmosphere that supports coaching and development.
  • Round on patients to enhance engagement and satisfaction.
  • Investigate patient complaints and safety events.
  • Assist in selecting, training, and orienting nursing personnel.
  • Evaluate performance and conduct performance management planning for associates.
  • Manage materials, equipment, and supply activities for nursing units.
  • Coordinate with Capacity Management for patient flow and bed turnover.
  • Monitor high-risk patients and ensure compliance with policies and standards.
  • Prepare written documentation and maintain required reports and records.
  • Adjust staffing patterns to meet patient care needs and ensure fiscal responsibility.
  • Provide shift-based clinical leadership and support optimal patient care outcomes.
