About the position

The Clinical Nurse II in the Outreach Programs/CTS Program at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center is a skilled nursing professional responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in an ambulatory setting. This role involves independently prioritizing and managing patient care, utilizing strong decision-making skills, and adhering to established standards and procedures. The nurse will work collaboratively with healthcare teams to ensure effective treatment and education for diverse patient populations.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and implements individualized patient care based on observations.
  • Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) monitoring to maintain or improve care of designated patient population.
  • Implements appropriate reporting, referrals and care in accordance with standardized procedures.
  • Initiates emergency procedures when indicated.
  • Demonstrates refined assessment skills to determine normal versus abnormal characteristics.
  • Provides direct and indirect care services, including administration of medications and therapeutic agents.
  • Performs skin tests, immunizations, phlebotomy, and initiates peripheral venous access.
  • Observes signs and symptoms of illness and reactions to medications/treatments.
  • Prioritizes identified patient care problems and assumes responsibility for problem resolution.
  • Plans patient care and education based on disease process and anticipated patient outcomes.
  • Provides care to special patient populations and patients with diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Participates in evidence-based improvement initiatives and councils/committees.
  • Identifies and assesses patient safety concerns and intervenes to provide a safe environment.
  • Documents direct and indirect patient care services accurately.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree/college diploma in nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • RN California state license required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross required.
  • One (1) year of relevant ambulatory or acute care experience in the area of specialty required.
