About the position

The Clinical Psychologist at the Debra Simon Center of Integrative Behavioral Health and Wellness is responsible for diagnosing and treating behavioral health disorders while working as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team. This role involves providing evidence-based treatments, supervising trainees, and developing psychology training programs. The psychologist will also engage in community education and serve as a consultant within the Department of Psychiatry.

Responsibilities

  • Assumes the duties and responsibilities of a Psychologist as prescribed by training and standards.
  • Participates in all phases of the outpatient process including performing intake assessments and developing treatment plans.
  • Provides empirically-based treatment in individual, family, and group modalities.
  • Works with families and community resources to provide patient support.
  • Supervises trainees and less experienced staff.
  • Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team and attends staff meetings.
  • Evaluates patients according to department policies and conducts diagnostic evaluations.
  • Provides effective, evidence-based treatment and evaluates treatment effectiveness.
  • Functions as a consultant in the Department of Psychiatry and provides behavioral health consultations.
  • Participates in professional and community educational conferences and seminars.
  • Adheres to HUMC policy and procedures, the Joint Commission, and the Jersey Board of Psychological Examiners.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree from APA-accredited program in Clinical Psychology (PhD or PsyD).
  • Completion of APA-approved internship in Adult Clinical and/or Pediatric Psychology.
  • Proficient in evidence-based treatments (i.e. CBT, ACT, DBT, etc.).
  • Minimum 5 years related clinical experience serving patients across the mental health spectrum.
  • Experience providing clinical training and supervision.
  • Sensitivity to multiculturalism and diversity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills including Google Suite platforms.

Nice-to-haves

  • Postdoctoral training and/or experience in Clinical Psychology.
