About the position

The Cloud Technical Account Manager (TAM) for Strategic Industries at Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a pivotal role that focuses on providing technical guidance and support to a diverse range of customers, from startups to Fortune 500 companies. The TAM acts as the principal technical advisor, helping customers maximize their use of AWS services and ensuring their operational environments remain healthy. This position emphasizes building strong relationships with clients to understand their business needs and technical challenges, ultimately driving customer success and satisfaction with AWS offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the principal technical advisor and 'voice of the customer' for AWS services.
  • Craft and execute strategies to drive customer adoption and use of AWS services.
  • Provide advocacy and strategic technical guidance to customers.
  • Drive discussions with senior leadership regarding incidents, trade-offs, support, and risk management.
  • Help plan and build solutions using AWS best practices.
  • Maintain operational health of customers' AWS environments.
  • Develop close relationships with customers to understand their business and operational needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, or related discipline.
  • 2+ years of technical engineering experience in Information Technology operations.
  • Experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, DynamoDB, and RDS databases.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with experience presenting to executive teams.
  • Understanding of the AWS Well-Architected Framework and its application to customer architecture.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a distributed systems environment.
  • Experience in a 24x7 operational services or support environment.
  • Familiarity with cloud offerings beyond AWS.
